Bert Back In BC

--Last night the Anahiem Ducks played in Vancouver, where for the first time for the blockbuster trade between Florida and Vancouver sent Bertuzzi and Bryan Allen to the Panthers in return for Roberto Luongo and Lukas Krajicek. Since then Bertuzzi went to Detriot and later Anahiem. Both Florida and Detriot have played in Vancouver while Bertuzzi was a member of the teams but never was he healthy enough to play!
--During the warm up, the crowd gave Bertuzzi a little love which quickly wore off as the game begin, as Bertuzzi didn't make much of a impact. At one point he did recieve a breakaway pass in on Luongo but it was a little ahead of him so he couldn't put it passed his trade counterpart. It also seemed that, at one point Bertuzzi went a little easy on Naslund, his former linemate and friend for many years, which resulted in a goal for the Canucks.
--I think Bertuzzi deserves some love when he comes to GM place, he was a big part of the Canucks Franchise for many years and was a big point producer on the top line of Naslund, Morrison and Bertuzzi, The West Coast Express, as they were called! He needs the fans support!

Canucks and Devils!!!

The Canucks are sitting in 19th place in the league with an 8-8-1 record. It's okay but it could definitly be better. Before the Canucks 1-0 shootout lose to Edmonton, the team had won three straight! Luongo still recorded a shutout from the lose but im sure he would have perfered the win aswell! Either way the boys aren't doing that badly, a little less then the expectations that were thrown at them after their impressive playoff run last spring.
With a little more production from the big guns such as the Sedins, Naslund and Morrison and without letting the injuries affect them to much the Canucks could shine again. The teams next for games are important ones, against their division but they are 6-0-1 against their division so the future is looking bright!

The New Jersey Devils 26th in the league only ahead of Edmonton, Pheonix, Buffalo and Washington. The Devils need to step it up a bit. The retrun of langenbrunner brings ope to a struggling club but the Devils are letting their deficits get to them. The lose of Gomez was a blow to their ofence strategy but even bigger seems to be the lose of Rafalski. A player in which Brodeur relied on and trust in front of his net. This should be the yet that Gionta and Elias get back in the saddle and Parise and Zajac continue to grow. Tonight if the Devils win Mr. Brodeur will have his 500th win of his career...thats huge!!!!! Lets hope the boys can get their stride back and show us a little more motivation and confidence we've seen in the previous years.

Pre Season

Both the Canucks and Devils are done with the pre season, well every team is but it went better for some then other. At this point it doesn't appear that the lose of Gomez and Rafalski has made too big of an impact on the Devils, with a 4-2-0 in the pre season, but i think it will. Last year Gomez brought in 60 points and Rafalski 55. Those are big skates to fill. It will check up to them eventaully and when it does Lou Lamerillo is going to wish he tryed that little bit hard to keep Scotty and Brian in Jersey.
The Canucks, did make much of a change, they lost a few good players, most one in Bryan Smolinski, but they are still a young team so hopefully that can keep up with the reason of the league. Their pre-season wasn't quite as good has the Devils. At 3-2-2 the Canucks, need to work on their defensive situation but more importantly get some pucks in the net. and what is up with putting Naslund on the third line, he's better then that!

Free Agency Frenzy

Alot of movment has been going on lately, some good and some bad, depending on which team is on your white or black lists. The Canucks have made some small additions such as bringing in Curtis Sanford after losing Dany Sabourin to Pittsburgh, they brought in Bryon Ritchie and Brad Isbister after they lost Bryan Smolinski to the Habs. They also re-signed Lukas Karjicek. I think they lost a little more then they gained.
On the other hand thw New Jersey devils are facing some major set backs but trying to slowly rebuild and recover. The Most notable loses, and they're big ones, was losing Scotty Gomez to the rangers and and Brian Rafalski to the Red Wings. Dainius Zubrus and Karel Rachunek were brought in to fill that very large void. The Devils also lost Brad Lukowich to Tampa Bay.

Other notable trades
Todd Bertuzzi and Mathieu Schnieder went to the Ducks
Michael Nylander went to Washington
Chris Drury went to the Rangers
Daniel Brier went to Philadelphia
Paul Kariya wen to St Louis
Jocelyn Thibault went to Buffalo

Huge Hockey Withdrawal

There hasn't been any hockey on for a little while now and I'm going through a little withdrawal. Last Saturday I went to HNIC expecting to see some hockey Saturday night Hockey, but no. It sucks, I don't know what to do, the only part of the newspaper I read was the sports and the only part of the sports I read was the hockey articles now I have nothing to read. I mean Canucks and Devils withdrawal hit a while ago but I still had something to fall back on, and now theres nothing. I don't know I just have to much free time now, and I find myself wanting hockey more! but whatever, I'll get over it!
