Good Bye My Friends

In one very depressing, confusing game, the Anahiem Ducks have eliminated the Vancouver canucks from the 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs. We played tough and we played smart but the puck just wouldn't go in the net for us! To Begin I'd like to say how proud of the Canucks I am this year for making this far. Also to Dave Nonis, it took me a good few months to get over losing Bertuzzi but watching Luongo now and what he means to this team, makes me happier then i ever was watching Bert.
The game started tough and continued that way until the very end. A controversial goal by the Ducks started Vancouvers uphill battle. "In regulation, Luongo gave up just one goal, a disputed Samuel Pahlsson shot that went over him early in the second when he was bowled over and smothered in his crease by Travis Moen."(SI Canucks Page)

Burrows tied it up on a rebound from a Josh Green shot half way through the third and hope was reignited. The Canadian club just couldn't get it done when oppertunity was knocking.

Early in the second overtime Jannick Hansen was hammered off the puck and onto the ice by Rob Niedermayer and his brother Scott was there to catch the puck from leaving the zone. Just simply throwing the rubber towards the net...it went it. And my heart stopped, my head dropped and I'm pretty sure i used word, unapporpiate right now...it was over.

Luongo thought Niedermayer was going to get an elbowing penalty so he put his hand up and looked at the ref. He reacted late to Scotty's shot.

Louie is trying to taken the blame, meanwhile he was the best Canucks on the ice. As soon as the whistle went Roberto dropped to the ice and with his head down, he just laid there, motionless for a few second as his teammates serounded him with condolences.

On the lighter side at the beginning of OT luongo was a no show, due to equipment problems. Dany Sabourin took center stage as Dave Nonis looked on with great confusion. Sabby only played 3 and a half minutes in Anahiem but they were a long 3:34 minutes. Facing 5 shots and making two minor and three huge saves. When Luongo re-entered the ice surface he made sure Dany knew how well he did and how much he appreicated his courage and strength to just step in and step it up.

So now its over and the seasons done for the boys, it's been a great one and I'm glad we made it this far. So Thanks for the great season and see you soon.
